On the other hand, simplifying it down to just "dead" or "not dead" seems dangerous, too.

Well, I get what you're sayin' personally. But there's a lotta folks who gots stuff they wanna remember, 'cause it's important to 'em. Like their loved ones. Or a purpose.

I'm fine with what I gots, and what I'm makin', but it's not fer everybody.

And many have people here they have come to love. Who is to say which is better?

Well, they're not better. But I think all love is good, and it's good t' remember everybody you love. Could you imagine meeting someone you loved with all your heart and they don't remember they love you back? That'd be heart-breaking, don't you think?

That's a point, yes. I suppose it's nice to remember things about other people who are here with you.
