[You come home to the smell of something burning. The kitchen is in chaos. Yuyuko is holding a spatula.]

I have good news, and I have bad news.

[Yuyuko looks... notably more forlorn than usual! Her standard derpy facade is not present.]
[She is sitting next to a bottle of sake, but it looks like it's at least mostly full still.]
It might be presumptuous to say it, but why are we all fretting so much about memories?
We remember, or we don't remember. We disappear, or we don't disappear. There's no connection between our lives here and the lives we remember. For all we know, this could be the real world, and the rest all but a dream...
Indeed, perhaps it would be better to focus on making a good life for ourselves here, and let the memories sort themselves out later.
