[Well it's not any stranger than some of the things she's made herself when low on food, and it smells pretty good. So with a smile Scarlet tries it. Not bad! Thanks.
"No soy sauce, no miso, and even the bread is in an odd mushroom shape! I'm not even sure how I got here. I didn't have to clean up any vomit so I don't think I was drunk. Someone gave me their pajamas but I don't know who. So I just borrowed some of their clothes when I woke up. I couldn't find mine. Whoever lives here must be washing them for me."
[Ivan's smile is a bit like the type you would give a little kid showing off. He continues to idly flick a rock into the water every few seconds or so.]
I'll have to concede defeat, although I didn't know we were having a contest in the first place.
"What?! That's no way for a young man to act!" [Her voice steadily rises as she looks to the sky hopefully.] "You need to let the spirt of the challenge flow through you! Let it bring your heart to the peak of happiness knowing that you can face anything life throws at you!"
[She looks into Ivan's eyes with a face of complete seriousness, one that backs the conviction in her voice.]
"Never give up so easily, I'll make you into a rock-thrower yet. I'll go find you a rock to throw."
[Miki heads a short way off and starts pulling at a rather large rock.]
[Ivan's smile wavers just the slightest bit as Miki marches towards her goal. After a few moments, it becomes apparent that she's not about to give up.]
Would I still need to throw a rock if I said I can already face anything life throws at me?
"Are you ready to face a situation where you are required to throw a large rock further than someone else?"
[She hauls up the rock in both hands and walks it over to Ivan. Miki offers the rock to him with a smile that says she will not exactly wait all day for him to become ready to accept it.]
[There's a bit of a grunting noise, and then he sits up, eyes fluttering awake. He doesn't seem perturbed at being kicked so much as he just looks confused.]
"Oh... I must have-a fallen asleep again."
[Yeah, he actually talks like that. Goofy 'it's-a me' accent and all.]
[Miki seems happy that she has claimed victory in this instance.]
"It's pretty useful to be able to pick up large rocks. If one is in the way, or you have to teach the girl across the street that it is not ok to attempt to kill you every morning."
