[You stand before a boat tethered very securely to the bed of the Rapids. It's bigger than a kayak and has a deck and a mast, but it's not quite a ship of the class Tetra would like. It's got a set of oars and is about as big and structurally tough as it can be while still able to maneuver through and navigate the river. By the way, you volunteered to be on the crew.]
Alright, I wasn't too picky when I was recruiting, but it's time to get you guys sorted out. I think you can take a good look at these waters and realize it's a bad trip for a maiden voyage, right? I've been a captain on the open seas for half my life, and even I'm nervous. If you've never been a sailor and you're just trying this out because it sounded like a good idea, you should probably head back now. Just try not to go cry to the Vine about it. So anyway, who's got experience on a ship and who doesn't?

[About four hours later, among the wreckage of that lovely little ship on the same shore. Everybody's okay, albeit soaking wet in the cold air.]
Well... that could have gone worse. Hey, hey, what's with that face? I told you it was dangerous, didn't I?

That's just what I would do. If this really matters to you, you should probably follow your own instincts. I sure don't want to be responsible for it if I'm wrong, anyway, since it isn't my problem in the first place.
