...that I never understood that although you said you'd go, until you did, I never thought you would

There's a queer prick of emptiness tonight
A shallow crackle emanating from the fireside
Brings an orange glow about this hole
Swallowed by a blue I had once called home

I felt the rumble strike me at the core
I sat idle through the calm before the storm
I had a chance I chose to ignore

A quiet kitchen misses the shuffle of playful feet
A lonely couch can't replace the warmth of a body's heat
Anger has no reason without a shirt misplaced
Joy has no worth without your face

I felt the rumble strike me at the core
I sat idle through the calm before the storm
I had a chance I chose to ignore

I've got a love that's pure and true
But that love's worth nothing without a love from you
So I think I'll save it until you do

I lay this body down in a hammock for two
When it came to math I never was that good
Close my eyes and the memories start burning back
It stings me to tears, but they're all I have

I felt the rumble strike me at the core
I sat idle through the calm before the storm
I had a chance I chose to ignore

I've got a love that's pure and true
But that love's worth nothing without a love from you
So I think I'll save it until you do
