Time-Warner cable sucks. I know that this is not news. However.
We canceled our cable and were going to pay for networks only (about $10/month), but of course T-W wanted us back as customers, so we're getting cable again, but we'll be saving about $40/month over what we were paying before.
Bear made an appointment for the tech to come out today (Saturday) between 5 and 7 p.m. Rowan took a nap, and then we were going to go out for an early dinner and be home by 5 p.m. But at 4:30 I got a call from a woman at T-W saying that the tech was running very VERY late and wouldn't be at our house till after 7 p.m. So we decided to go to the grocery store while we were out.
You know where this is going, right?
At 5:18 p.m. I got a phone call from a different woman at T-W saying that the tech was at our house, and were we home? Um. No.
The woman on the phone this time was reasonably intelligent and apologetic. Basically, she couldn't figure out why we'd been told the tech was running so SO late, because the techs all get off work at 7 p.m. Sigh. So since we were in the middle of the store, and 20 minutes from home at that, we had to reschedule for tomorrow. I said, "So if I get a phone call saying the tech is running late, I don't believe it, right?"
