Cheeky
EEE! finally Thewlis' big project, Cheeky, gets a distributor in France and... the David Thewlis film, "Cheeky," which was just picked up by Warner Bros. for U.S. distribution. from this odd source (all info from the obsessed fangirls (missVan) at david-thewlis.com)
Thewlis wrote, stars and directed this comedy, (about a man whose wife dies in a fire, and whose wish apparantly is for her husband to be a contestant on a (horrid) Quizshow called Cheeky). The film also features Trudie Styler (Sting's wife, who happened to read the script, liked it and invested in it, I think).
Luc Besson (The Professional) co-produced it (like Gary Oldman's project, Nil by Mouth). Like all these long suffering indie films, had it's premiere in a while back (in Canada at the Toronto Film Festival in September,2003) before it found a distributer. It's gotten good reviews from critics and fans. So, release date is Oct. 5th in France, and ?? in the US through Warner Bros. (hmm.. any connection to PoA work Thewlis did?)
