Do you like Beethoven?

I love the local indie video shop downtown, rented:
- Dr. Strangelove, or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb Peter Sellers is so amazing-- he plays 3 roles in this film. And! I had no idea that (a very young) James Earl Jones is in the film. We rented it as had just read an article in The New Yorker on the RAND (parodied as the Bland corporation in the film) researcher who published in 1960, “On Thermonuclear War.” (this researcher joked that he should get royalties from the film as so much of his writing is paraphrased in the movie)

&mdash Leon/The Professional I now! get why this movie made such an impression on a lot of you out there on my flist. Really, it's so much more than a film about a hit man ("I do cleaning") and a precocious kid (Natalie Portman, who sounds exactly the same now as an adult). Gary Oldman is...whoa. - the neck crack, the sniffing for lies (eee!) the "death is whimsical" philosophizing, the perennial tan linen suit, the questions about classical musicians. I can also see why guy friends of mine idolized Jean Reno's character, Leon.

and just because it's all over my flist doesn't mean I can't play also, sort me:
Poll "I'll eat myself if you can find a smarter hat than me."
for the Canadians on my flist: Canadian pride icons
