Urubamba - ''The Sacred Valley of the Spiders''

So you know how stoked I was about Cusco? Well it keeps getting better. I love my new hometown - Urubamba. And it really does mean ''The Sacred Valley of the Spiders.'' As evidence:

There is a funny story that goes along with this, I talked to my host mom and dad about it ''Tengo Miedo!'' and my host dad killed it for me. lol. and my host mom was all ''spiders are our friends'' (in spanish of course) and i was like, NO, spiders are not amigos! lol. It was really funny.

So to go back to the beginning, I arrived in Urubamba a couple days ago, and it´s so beautiful and amazing. I live at the bottom of this absolutely GORGEOUS mountain. Here was the view when we arrived:

Right at the bottom of that huge mountain is where I live!!
The town is so beautiful and my host family is amazing. My host mom (I call her mama) is an amazing cook, and I have really great conversations with all of my family and all of the people here. My spanish has shot up l like a million percent since I arrived in Uru.
Today I started my project and I worked all morning in the hospital! It was so cool. I worked in OB and besides doing weight, blood pressure and historia, I got to measure the size of the uterus (by feeling around on the stomach) and also I got to feel the head and feet of like 10 babies! It was so cool the doctora showed me where to push on the stomach to find the head and everything on the different women and I even go to do the ultra sound! it was soooo cool. Maybe I´ll become a traveling midwife..... maybe it´s my calling.... seriously! It was so awesome :)
I´m having an AMAZING time, although I miss home a lot too. My family should be worried though... the longer I´m here the more I am convincing myself that I want to do this full time. I love living in such a different culture and learning the language and helping people. It´s amazing.

Here are some more pictures of BEAUTIFUL Urubamba:
