Perú! Estoy en Lima!
Buenas Dias!
Hello everyone! My Livejournal has (finally) been given new life and some juicy stories to feast on mostly due to the fact that I am in the Southern Hemisphere! It´s nice down here but not as different as one would think.
Everyone is speaking Spanish and although I can speak it and I know what I want to say, I can´t understand anyone, and I am hoping and counting on the fact that that will come with time. I´m very happy and very safe and I am so glad I came down here.
So far I have only been in Lima (not counting of course the hours spent in Houston (Yee haw!) and Panama) Lima is nice but not the most beautiful city I have traveled to. There is not much to do and due in part to me not bringing friends along, I´m actually quite lonely. Not very many people speak English, but that is okay, I really want my spanish to get better anyways.
Yesterday I spent all day walking around Lima, getting lost and then finding myself again. I am pretty far into my book The Idiot (Kate bought it for me) and it´s a really good book! I´m enjoying it. And last night I decided to splurge and go see La Era del Hielo 3!! (Ice Age 3) in 3D! It was very funny even though it was all in Spanish with no subtitles. Luckly since it is a cartoon I got the gist of things and I could understand part of it :) It was cool though because it was in 3D.
Besides that I saw two beautiful churches and saw a lot of the city. I went down to Miraflores and I spent a lot of time in the area around my hostel in Pueblo Libre.

Alright well I´m off to catch my bus. It´s a 22 hour bus ride up to Cusco! Wish me luck!!
