Good question -- here's my take and I apologize in advance for my bluntness, let's just blame it on PMS shall we *grins*
I have no idea what his life's like or if he has anymore issues then any of us. I'm sure Hollywood isn't all glamour and money doesn't buy everything, so there are more than likely a few mundane problems lurking in his closet. Something not dignified or interesting and certainly wouldn't make for good fiction (unless you've recently read helena_s_renn VigBean piece, which makes the mundane amazing).
Personally I think he looks like I did when I was single and 23 having the time of my life, not enough sleep and the drama of who's dating who and what so and so said about you know who and did I get caught snogging my girlfriends boyfriend in the alley... The difference is I was 23 and he's 30 now. Maybe it's just time for him to grow up -- not my call. Maybe he's remarkably mature, I couldn't begin to pretend to know. I'm just glad that there are photos out there that inspire me to write fiction because it would be

I forgot to add that I doubt I'd give him a hug, I need to know someone to do that. And I certainly don't want him for myself. If you had a choice of sitting back and anonmously watching him with a male lover -- I'm in *giggles*.
Actually, I wouldn't mind sitting in on this as well if there is a spare seat. Perhaps I should have chosen a poll answer as "I don't want to hug him i want to watch him hug hot men".
