I am on the point of going to court as the guardian ad litem for a custody/visitation case. The child in question is 15! The mom snatched her from her legal custodian, and kid wants to stay with mom because mom "home schools" her (i.e., lets her watch television all day and grades

Buffy (I will not be calling the purse Buffy) and I did quite well today! I took a 16 year old NICE child with me to Sephora and I gave her my samples.

I feel sorry for you, to be working on this and the consequences for your sanity and health. It's things like this that have made me stop caring, trying to help everyone. People like this, they expect that they'll get every thing for free, without working for it. There are way too many people like that out there. Now, suddenly, they find out that the world isn't like that.

This little girl, grown up in a world where people like Paris Hilton, the Kardashian sisters, the Jersey Shore numbskulls and Perez Hilton are seen as rolemodels think that they are entitled to everything. The parents, in this case, the mom, perpetuate this behavior. We have another lost generation.

Well, this time, the judge and I got the case postponed, and the child evaluated by the mental health liaison officer. This makes me terribly pleased and I will now address Christmas cards tonight while watching BBCAmerica!

Things worked out quite well today, actually. Someone gave me a present that I can't even re-gift (heh) but that's all right. Having my Coach bag gave me the ineffible moral superiority of a member of the Drones Club. Heh.
