• Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."

• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity

• Update your journal with the answers to the questions

Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions. (I'll also answer more, if asked.)

earlgreytea68gave me these questions:

1. What is it that first drew you to foreign languages?

I don’t think I ever had choice on the matter, when I was 4 my parents led me to a group who studied English and then I had English classes (though they were kind of lame to call them that) in kindergarten, I didn’t learn much beyond some nursery rhymes but it was the beginning, and then I went to the school closest to my house and it turned out to be the only school in the city that has 3 foreign languages - Spanish(since the first grade), English(since the second) and French(since the 7th), so I grew up with the notion that it’s impossible to not know foreign languages at least in certain part xD It still astonishes me when some people around can’t understand even elementary English (at least ones of my age and close).

Though I must say that I didn’t plan on studying languages professionally, it just happened, like you said, going to law-school was an easy way for, philology/linguistic specialty was an easy way for me, I passed all the exams in Uni without any preparation when I didn’t pass the exams I had been preparing for in another college, so I guess I much more well-suited for that area then, say, management xD But I’m kind of happy with where I ended up, I always had a language-geek inside of me and I love to dig deeper in linguistic stuff)

2. You're a big TV lover. What's your current favorite show?

You mean the one that is alive and running regularly unlike DW? ;-)

Then BONES. OMFG. Brennan/Booth. I love them so much it’s illegal xD They are like my life-line because they heal all wounds left by other ships with their cuteness and fluff and LOVE. Bones seems like the only show whose producers really love us, poor viewers, and have a goal to make us happy by killing us with the overdose of shippiness. Also, unlike many other shows Bones gets better with each season and all characters are so likeable I can’t even pick one favourite (I have at least three to five), and there’s no one I hate which is a very rare occurrence (I like most of the characters in DW but there’s always River Song and Reignette and Stephen Moffat himself, lol :P) Until I went on a full squee-rant I’ll stop just by saying that Bones has been the best angst-therapy for me for more than a year now and cuteness combined with epicness of B/B can be overrun only by Ten/Rose themselves and that says something ;D
Here's shippy picspam from the latest episode , so many moments and they even can do better <3

3. Do you have a tattoo? What is it? If you don't, what tattoo would you want?

I’m a good girl, of course, I don’t have tattoos :P Why would I want to stain by body forever with something I might not even like after some time? XD Yeah, I’m boring like that, I don’t have any piercing either, even my ears are intact. Also things like brow - or tongue-piercing or whatever freak me out xD But if I were into tattoos I’d write “TEN/ROSE-FOREVER” all over myself :P (It was only partially a joke ;-))

4. Would you rather be a famous actress, a famous writer, or a famous singer?

Definitely a writer, I think I always wanted to be one eventually and the only area I’m creative enough for is writing, I have an awful voice (even though I used to sing in a choir), I act rather badly (well, I’m a better actress than a singer but still not good enough, though I found that I rather like the position of the director because very often I find myself ordering around when we do something theatrical in Uni or before in school xD) So I try to have more realistic dreams ;-)

5. You have the opportunity to plan the trip of your dreams, but you can only go to one place. Where do you go?

Does “UK-all-over” count as one place? ;-)If more specific I’d choose Scotland, it’s all DT’s fault xD

lorelaisquaredgave me these:

1. What is your favourite DW episode?
I don’t think I can pick just one, shipper-wise I’d choose Fear Her (with IP/TSP, New Earth and Tooth and Claw as close seconds) because of all the cuteness and I don’t care about the crappy plot, lol. Plot-wise + shipper-wise I think Father’s day is my favourite ever, I love the concept so much and atmosphere and also you can see how much the Doctor loves her and what he is ready to do for her, I guess it doesn’t get the first place only because it’s Nine and not Ten. Plot-wise I also really love most of season One, The Shakespear’s Code and Fires of Pompeii and The Unicorn and The Wasp.

2. What else do you watch?
Are you sitting comfortably? ;) Prepare to read a long list XD I divided them into categories ;D
Shows I watch as soon as a new episode aires: BONES, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, The Office, Lie to me.
Shows I watch from time to time when I’m bored and feel like it( it can be every week or after two-three new eps aired so that I can watch them in a row): Sara Jane Adventures, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, House (I’m not sure about continuing with the last two).
Shows new eps of which I’m waiting to see: Doctor Who, Being Human, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Primeval (lol, they all happen to be British)
Finished shows I watched/am watching: Charmed, Dresden Files, Torchwood(?), Dead like me, Black Books, Buffy (only recently started, I’m on season 3 now), Alias (couldn’t get past season 4, it got really boring)
Shows I might/might not have abandoned and haven’t watched for half a year/one/two years: Pushing Daisies, Supernatural, Heroes, Lost, Desperate Housewives. SPN has the best chance of reunion with me xD
Seen a few seasons on TV a few years ago and don’t want to continue: Smallville, Nip/Tuck, The OC.
Phew, I hope I haven’t forgotten anything but it is possible XD

3. What is your favourite book of all time?

I’m copying the answer from the previous entry :P
I don’t have only one favorite book, I have two favorite authors and I love all their books (some just more than others). The first writer is Jane Austen, I prefer Emma over others but P&P, Persuation and NA are very close seconds. The second writer you wouldn’t know, she is from Belarus and was never translated into English, I adore here writing style, humour and imagery. She writes fantasy but she always manages to make something very special and new out of boring and used stereotypes, and she is indeed very witty and clever. I’ve loved her books since I was 13 and even though I’m not a big fan of fantasy now I still read every new piece she publishes, she is young (about thirty right now, no more) and her style also grows with her but I’m still in love with earlier things because she created one of my favorite ships ever and I’ve read that first series so much times I still sometimes speak with quotes from there xD

4. What do you like best about your studies?

That I get to learn new things, it’s as unoriginal as that :P I was always greedy for knowledge and curious and I love to go deep in language-studies, knowing more makes me feel more accomplished. I love linguistic disciplines and just plain study of foreign languages. I started German and Italian this year and I’m happy about it)

5. If money were no obstacle and you could take a trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I’d visit pretty much every European country, Australia, USA, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Indonesia, Filipinas, Japan, Egypt, China, New Zealand. I’d love to see many places :D

I'm answering in the order which questions were asked, so jennyshepard, jellybean728and
