Roy Ayres is a jazz vibrophonist who was one of the top R&B/funk bandleaders in the 70's and 80's. His biggest song, "Everybody Loves The Sunshine", has been sampled countless times, and "Running Away" was one of the biggest disco tunes of the 70's.
Running Away - Roy Ayers Switch (the original band, not to be confused with the DJ) was Bobby and Tommy DeBarge's group before they left to form DeBarge with their brothers and sisters. Their first single, "There'll Never Be", made the R&B Top 10.
Therell Never Be - Switch Slave was a funk band formed in 1975, although lead vocalist Steve Arrington did not join the group until 1978. This song, "Snap Shot", was released in 1981 and reached #6 on the R&B chart, right after one of their most well known songs, "Watching You"
Snap Shot - Slave Fonda Rae sang several of the best underrated disco songs ever. She was also a member of Kid Creole and the Coconuts and also sang vocals for Don Armando. The song "Over Like a Fat Rat" was released in 1982 but only reached #22 on the Club Play singles chart.
