This is a really bittersweet fic, and it might make you uncomfortable when you reach the end (I'll be happy to spoil in a comment for anyone worried) but I also feel like it's a touching and emotionally honest read on Erik and Charles' relationship as older men. I don't know, I wouldn't have thought of that, but it still fits, and it's lovely despite the sad touches of it.
