Withdrawal from life's equity bank

Jan 14, 2009 10:16

Suckout[1] of the day:

I was walking back from breakfast along the Central/Mid-Levels Escalator at 10 AM when a woman chased me down from the opposite direction to return my wallet, which had fallen out of my sweatpants. This kind act not only saved me about HK$2000 (US$260) but countless hours replacing my HK identity card, BC driver's licence, various cards from banking institutions on two continents and much more. Phew!

Moral #1: People are often better than I think they are.

Moral #2: Don't carry a large, bulky wallet in sweatpants.

[1] For half the pot, minus the blinds and antes.
