EWR-HKG and the importance of foot massage places that stay open until 1am

Jan 13, 2009 10:55

I'm back in Hong Kong.

My flight was very decent, as 16-hour flights go. Contributing factors:

- No one was in the middle seat.
- Continent's in-flight long-haul entertainment is excellent. Even better than Cathay's. Movies watched: Catch Me If You Can, American Beauty, Stand By Me. Television watched: House, Law and Order: SVU, Frasier (all one episode each).
- Hours slept: 6
- Hell, even the food didn't suck.

Also, I defy anyone to get a one-hour foot massage -- even two hours after getting off a 16-hour flight -- and not feel like a million bucks when it's over.

I forgot my copy of Taleb's "The Black Swan" on the plane. I have to say, I didn't see that coming.

It's cold in Hong Kong. Woke up and it was 8 degrees Celsius. Which I understand is like 20 degrees warmer than some of you, except ya'll have internal heating and I don't.

Was thinking about impulse-leaving to Thailand this week, but I'll probably play out the end of the month.
