Belated Merry Christmas!

Dec 26, 2008 14:18

Belated Christmas tidings to everyone! I've been working on a couple of request ficlets and I was hoping to post one of them yesterday, but it obviously didn't happen. =P I blame three hours spent at the neighbors and the sangria that was given to me. So, instead, I'll finish up the two ficlets, hopefully have them beta'd, and have them posted ( Read more... )

christmas, life

I tried to buy the kiwi farm ;) Sadly there were only three small ones available at the time so I grabbed them plus a big sheep for me and Jess and a bigger kiwi for Tasha. None of the other kiwi styles appealed and so I'll be picking up more for the 'bitches' next year. Might even grab a few sheep instead if there's some small ones cos omg they're cute.

The candles are cherry blossom for the pink one and green tea & cucumber. I've not burnt a green one yet but quite like the pink ones. Dusk is a dangerous shop to walk into if you like to smell scents of things.

Hockey...you should try and come to the winter olympics with us and see some olympic hockey :) You can point all the tings they doing wrong to the novice that is me XD

Congrats on the schooling things. Still think you're nuts but if it gets you a job then all is good.

*squishes with love*

*grins* Then I rank amongst the lucky ones? I guess I really need to keep an eye on the little guy for fear of kiwi-napping. ;) And yes, any candle-like stores are dangerous. There's one at Disneyland (Illuminations, if I remember right) which has the neatest stuff, including their addictive pound cake candles. You'll have to check it out if you ever decide to do the Disneyland sidetrip with Yaoi con ( ... )

Yeah, I know that Disneyland isn't too likely, but still needs to be on the list for future ideas. Who knows, a road trip might not be a bad idea. ;) I haven't done it myself, but I'm sure others have and may have pointers. Or on another thought, Jamie just joined up with some Disney Vacation Club thing and she mentioned that the suites hold up to 12 people. She doesn't have enough points now, but that may be another bitches reunion idea the year or two after the Olympics. Granted, I have no solid understanding of DVC, so I can't speak for her in the least (especially when she's the one paying a hunk of money for it), but it's an idea for the future ( ... )

Up to 12 people...there's 12 'bitches' XDDD It's about a 8-9 hour drive from SF to Disney. We'd have to make a couple days of it at least if it was added to the usual con trip. Road trip *GRIN*

Planning this early is evil but we have to in order to have any kind of chance at getting the tickets we want. After they're confirmed things should get a little easier hopefully in that on entering any jobs the gals can immediately book that time off as it's already set sort of thing.

I was thinking of the whole Olympics thing before Janet mentioned it and when she did I know it was something that was meant to happen. Need to think too about what sight seeing things we might want to do on the day between events.

*laugh* I admit that when she first mentioned the 'up to 12 people' thing, I immediately thought about the con group - I didn't know there were actually 12 of us. ;) But I'll have to stress that DVC is Jamie's thing and I have zero understanding of the details (seriously, when Jamie talked about it, it sounded a bit like calculus to me with how the point system works), so I'm not volunteering anything beyond the possible idea for a few years down the rode, aka long after Jamie is a pro at exploiting the program for everything it's worth. ;)

Oh, I completely understand why we have to plan this early for Olympics. Heck, I didn't know that tickets were already being sold (glad that Janet is on it!). And I have to say, going to the Olympics is a pretty damn good excuse for getting off of work. Altogether, depending on the cost, I'm willing to get into it. The problem is if that cost gets too high for this part-time gal.

I'm on it, becuase in part, I can't avoid it. Bellingham estimates something like half of the people in the US who drive to the Olympics are going to be driving through town. We are ramping up the image that we are the gateway to the olympics.

We even have the first TEAM USA store to open for the Vancouver Olympics already open in the Mall. (They have some of the coolest stuff!!)

Does that mean everyone from Bellingham will be driving a different direction? ;) We love you for being our Olympics and omg everyone open house holiday gal <3333 Or well open house for the bitches...you know what I mean *grin*

Wow, it sounds like it could get really crazy over there for you. Traffic is probably going to be insane in the weeks around the Olympics, especially considering the amount of vans and buses for the larger groups.

*laugh* Be careful around that store. I can imagine that the people marketing TEAM USA are good at making things that people "have to" buy. ;)

The lady who runs the store is really nice. She just was transfered over to start up and run this store from working at the Training center in Colorado Springs. (I did not have a long converstation with her *shifty eyes*) And so far, I have bough small gifts there and two Beijing bags at 75% off. All of their Beijing stuff is 75% off.

We all need to poke Jamie then and shower he with love so she'll exploit the program for us ;)

I think the Olympics snuck up on us all. We discussed it sort of at con as a vague idea of hey let's do it and then I asked Janet about it again a while back which lead to the posts and poking of websites. Hopefully we will get all the events we want seeing as they're right at the start so they don't cost as much. Looking at some of those ticket prices and they're insane.
