Oh My God, All the Damn Bugs

So yesterday I went to see Bug, and I guess I'm now reviewing movies instead of typing up personal entires.

Whatever.

So yeah, Bug. As I usually do, I'm going to go with a "pretty good" for this movie. Now, I've said that for just about every movie I've seen. I say just about because I've tourtured myself with movie like "Bettlefield Earth".

As far as a numerical rating, I would give it a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10. The plot, while interesting when it gets going, is slow to begin with. Though it was slow, it constantly kept my attention. This is probably because I saw the commercials and was trying to figure out where the bugs came in. When the bugs did come in, the movie quickly escalated to a fever pitch. At the climax of the movie, it becomes apparent that all of the slightly boring action at the beginning is critical the events that occur in the climax. I'm trying not to give away any of the ending details or spoilers for the movie, even though you guys probably won't see it.

Though it is a horror movie, it isn't a shocking movie. That is, nothing jumps out of the closet and screams boo. Its still a scary/creepy movie, but when you get used to the characters and the plot, it becomes a very suspenseful film. Overall, if you enjoyed "The Ring" and other movies like that, I would recommend this movie. If you don't like movies like "The Ring" though, avoid this one. It gave me the creepy sort of feeling that "The Ring" did, but didn't make me quite as scared after the film like "The Ring" did.

In other review type news, I finished Shadow of the Colossus a couple days ago. I really enjoyed this game, and wish I had played it more. If you like action RPGs like Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, etc. I recommend picking this up. It's only $20.00 as a budget "Greatest Hits" release, and worth every penny. The only annoying thing is the travel. Its not really that bad, but I recommend finding a map online that will give you the location of each colossus. Eventually, you'll figure out how to navigate the world easily, but it can be difficult at first. There's actually even replay value, in a sort of new game plus mode that includes a Time Attack feature. Upon beating colossi in time attack, you recieve upgrades of a sort to your equipment/abilities. Beyond Time Attack mode, theres no equipment or upgrades., there's not even an XP system. You get a bow, a sword, and a horse and you kill 16 colossi. Simple, but a great game overall.
