30 Days of Tales part 2
I'm a slacker and I"m doing this on a less-than weekly basis, so here are days 6-12 for you! Once again, this is made public for my facebook friends.
6. Favorite Canon Pairing
I know most of you will fight me on this, but I just love Yuri and Estelle.
AND I KNOW I'M LIKE THE ONLY ONE THAT DOESN'T HATE ESTELLE, but that's not my only reason for chosing this pairing. The game did a great job of making their growing relationship believable. Yuri taught her how the world works and Estelle helped him see it through more innocent eyes. They genuinely missed each other when they were separated and the scene where Yuri brought Estelle back from certain events that I don't want to spoil, my heart just melted.
7. Favorite Non-Canon Pairing
XD.... Guy x Natalia.
For some reason, I love picturing these two together. I can't really explain why, but Natalia is left by herself after following misguided feelings for someone she THOUGHT was her childhood friend. She and Guy spend enough time together, and she probably needs a man in her life. If I was Natalia, I'd for Guy out of that gynophobic bubble... rawr.
Suggestive pictures will happen when Envel and I do our Abyss cosplay. Just sayin'.
8. Favorite Opening Song
"The Dream Will Not Die" - Tales of Phantasia.
I really like both versions and I may favor the SNES release a little more, but the PSX has a pretty video so that's what you guys get. It's catchy, it's fun, and what can I say? I love Tales of Phantasia. If I ever do con-karaoke again, this will be my song.
9. Favorite Location
Uh, geez I dunno... how about Grand Chokmah?
Yeah. I'd live here. Everyone knows I have the mannerisms of a snob, anyway.
10. Favorite Mascot
MIIIEEUUUUUUU. <3
I was right there with Tear squeakin' about how cute this little guy is. Just ask Andrew. Mieu's dedication to Luke warms my heart and I really think he's got one of the cutest designs of any Tales Mascot.
11. Favorite Monster
JIGGLIES. (Bunwiggle, Ratwiggle, etc.) I couldn't find any pictures, sorry!! I am always entertained by how these little guys do their retarded bounce. They're hardly worth taking the time to fight but they always made me smile. Am I strange for picking a weak monster?
12. Favorite Boss Battle
I favor the legendary gigantos monsters from Tales of Vesperia. This is a crappy video but while looking for better quality, I got sidetracked... so this is what you get.
I really liked taking time to find them all. I literally got a notebook out and jotted down all of the clues so I could find them one after one. There were additional sorcerer's ring upgrades I had to get in order to finish fighting all of the monsters, so it made it more of a challenge. I can't remember what I got for winning, I just remember the satisfaction of defeating all of them.
