His ceiling was of particular interest tonight. It wasn't because anything had changed about it, but it was there, a nice focus away from his thoughts. But they crept back, forcing their way into his mind as he stared blankly upwards.

Arthur got a full 30 second warning before his kitchen was completely taken over. Piles of food was dragged in from the car and the children that made up his family, extended or not, were placing things all over the kitchen. Really it's only fitting to colonize France next. America doesn't get the same flashbacks as Canada, but they're there.  Stepping into Calais makes Canada shudder and he feels the blond frenchman all around them. It's scary to take the first step. America used to get such flashbacks in England, but Canada was always closer to France.
( it's a color that were Canada a romantic, he'd call cornsilk, instead he calls it light blonde )
