As long as evil lurks in the hearts of men
So, I finished Final Fantasy IV DS the other day. The final battle wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, but the random encounters were still making me cry.
Obviously Cecil and Kain in front, Edge and the ladies in the back. I had Kain with Darkness + Jump + Phoenix, which surprisingly didn't matter too much, because Zeromus had Osmose. Kain just jumped all the time, per usual. Cecil just attacked-- I had Focus charged up before I used the crystal, but afterwards didn't bother. Edge threw everything and was my main offensive. Rydia mostly just summoned Ashura for extra insurance. Rosa healed and cast slow-- when Zeromus got down to meteor everyone died but her (she had HP + 50% and 93 Spirit), but she had Omnicasting so could do a multi-target raise. I used Minerva Bustiers on both the girls, figuring that the boost to speed would cancel out the minor loss to the casting stats. I can't prove anything with science, though.
Final levels were 80 for everyone but Rosa, 81, and Edge, 78. (He never could make up the level gap.)
In Edge's defense, he was actually really useful in the Giant of Babil, because of his "run away" spell.
