I JUST REWATCHED S4 TOO. I really like that season, I think S3 is still my favorite, but maaan, I do actually really like S4.

That's exactly it!! Buffy DID love Riley, she just didn't realize it because she was caught up in all her other issues, and it was REALLY SAD. She was so down about it after they broke up, and then that just went on until Joyce died, which also uses many sadface emoticons.

The saddest part though was that she REALIZED IT exactly .2 seconds too late. Also, Xander telling her right before = GAAAAAAH.

I just get all *flailyhandsey* about it all really. Seasons 3-5 I think are the peak of that show.

I watched it Monday. I have no desire to rewatch both that and The Body anytime soon because it will hurt too much D:

But rewatching seasons 3-5 was a good idea.
