Years in Fandom? Hmm, I read my first fic (Draco Veritas) at the insistence of a co-worker in Feb 2005. My co-worker was sequeeing about slash, and I had no idea what she was talking about. My response when being told about m/m pairings was less than positive. So, now three amazingly insightful years and several failed het OTPs later, here we are. (I used to be very, very conservative and was indoctrinated with all kinds of shit. That, to say the least, has changed due to a variety of factors.)
Other cons attended, if any: Lumos, Phoenix Rising, and Sectus.
Day and time you're arriving: I really don't know right now. I've had some scheduling conflicts as related to school come up and it really sucks.

Hmmm... Airtran has a flight BACK from Chicago Midway to Charlotte on the 11th, leaving at 7 p.m. and arriving in NC at 12:15 a.m. for $121. They don't appear to have ANY flights on August 6th or 7th, which is mind boggling, but if you snagged the return for only $121 and found a comparable fare on another airline to get there, you could swing $250-$300 round trip. I paid $300 round trip from Boston in February, so that's not bad.

I usually fly out of Raleigh/Durham (RDU airport) but Charlotte is only a two hour drive...so if it turns out to be cheaper, I might do that. I know Airtran is a better pick financially. :D

I'll see what I can do. I need to know more about dates for my school shit first before I can make any airline commitments. God, I've I'm really in a bind, I'll fucking drive to Chicago. *g* 13 hours, w00t!

You could always try Southwest, too. I just checked and it looks like you can get a nonstop round trip ticket between RDU and Midway for about $230.

Oh, you're so nice! Thanks for checking this out. I'll definitely look at Southwest when making plans. I was watching something on CNN the other day and they were discussing how awesome Southwest is in comparison to other airlines when it comes to baggage fees and prices for changing flight reservations. I think they're a lot more flexible -- at least right now. *g*

No problem! Southwest is wonderful. They're very flexible and courteous, and they make checking in (which is always a pain in the ass, or at least I think so) incredibly easy. Oh, and they're the only airline that gives me food when I fly from LA to Chicago :P

I've read DH three times now. It was much less painful the third time. I think it's because I knew what was coming, so I didn't wince quite so much! :D
