So it goes...
Many thoughts and mixed feelings are swirling through my head right now but what is mainly on my mind is Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. Kurt Vonnegut was, is, and always will be my favorite author of all time. His writing style left me captivated from the first moment I picked up Slaughterhouse Five in early 2001. I spent the rest of my high school experience snatching up and reading his books with a religious fervor. I even signed up to receive E-mail confirmation every time the In These Times website updated in hopes that another one of his articles had been published in it. Needless to say I am deeply affected by his passing. The tragedy is only compounded by the fact that I would have finally achieved my dream of meeting him this coming June when he was scheduled to give a talk at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in L.A. He was a true literary genius and one of my earliest writing and philosophical influences. Thank you Mr. Vonnegut for the wonderful works you left which continue to inspire me each day.
