My good dear wonderful friend who shall remain unnamed is on her way to the emergency room because she woke up blind this morning.
MS is FUCKED UP. All you folks who know me - understand that something like that might happen any time. There's no warning. You wonder why I am terrified of summer? Being overheated is a frequent precursor to physical crisis; it makes the immune system go haywire, and it starts attacking neural tissue. And even that doesn't really matter; any minute, every time someone with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis wakes up, she could suddenly have no feeling in her legs, or be unable to swallow, or, well, go blind.
She's finally starting to put her life together, and shit like this happens to her. We were going to have coffee and watch a movie today.
I hope she's going to pull through this all right. She's come too far to be knocked down by this stupid disease right now.
