I'll tell you what I think when I'm done - I'm about 250 pages into it now, and I'm still pretty into it (though not so into it that I can't set it down and read another book in the meantime, which I've done three times since I started it...) it's just... very long. I can totally see how the politics could either get out of hand - or else be intriging and awesome, depending on one's inclinations.

I'm in the middle of a couple of great big huge complex and wonderful books (I feel a little guilty for being less than halfway through China Mieville's "The Scar", and have been for about four months now)... but sometimes I just want a quick fun read. I blame the internets.

Have you tried India 4 U on Hawthorne for lime pickle that's not Patak's? I've never been, but I've heard they have good samosas, and might be worth a try for the pickle. There's a recipe in Madjur Jaffrey, but I've never tried it. Mmm, lime pickle.

Also, have you seen any Torchwood? There was nothing else on the other day and I watched a few episodes, and all I have to say is ... HOT GAY SEX!

I really ought to drop into India 4 U. They've also got good cheap incense, as well as a little deli.

I have season 1 on the hard drive of my G4 tower, waiting for me to get to it. Captain Jack is my hero. I love how John Barrowman is almost amazingly good-looking, but is just a little too creepy and lizard-like... but I keep looking at him wonderingly...
