dry-blood moon

Aug 28, 2007 11:28

Somehow I managed to see the lunar eclipse last night.

I was up too late using IM, which is always a massive adrenaline rush for me (always) and so I didn't set my alarm clock to wake me at 2:45 AM, when the eclipse would be beginning totality. I went to sleep, reassuring myself that lunar eclipses are neato, but I've seen them before, and it's not that huge a deal to miss one.

At 3:00 exactly, someone was arriving home, and they (accidentally?) tapped their car horn. The sound was enough to wake me up, and as I was turning over, I glanced at the clock. So I got up and went to the living room and looked out my window, and sure enough, overhead to the south, the moon was rusty, but brightening on the right side as it moved out of the earth's shadow.

I was well pleased. I drank some water and went back to bed.

Ideally, my Heroes DVDs will be waiting for me when I get home from work today. I have to decide what to watch first - the original pilot? Deleted scenes? An episode with commentary? CLAUDE!!

And then also this weekend, I will be grilling for probably the last time this year. I know everybody's already got their Labor Day weekend plans, but if there's any room in your schedule and you'd like to get some Heroes under your belt and have some grilly snacks, let me know.

heroes, awesome, where the hell were you last night?
