Johnny was a schoolboy when he heard his first Beatle song,
'Love me do,' I think it was. From there it didn't take him long.
Got himself a guitar, used to play every night,
Now he's in a rock 'n' roll outfit,
And everything's all right, don't you know?
Johnny told his mama, hey, 'Mama, I'm goin' away. I'm gonna hit the big
time, gonna be a big star someday', Yeah.
Mama came to the door with a teardrop in her eye.
Johnny said, 'Don't cry, mama, smile and wave good-bye'.
Don't you know, yeah yeah, Don't you know that you are a shooting star,
Don't you know, don't you know. Don't you know that you are
a shooting star, And all the world will love you just as long,
As long as you are.
Johnny made a record, Went straight up to number one,
Suddenly everyone loved to hear him sing the song.
Watching the world go by, surprising it goes so fast.
Johnny looked around him and said, 'Well, I made the big time at last'.
Don't you know, don't you know, Don't you know that you are
a shooting star,
Don't you know, oh, yeah, Don't you know that you are
a shooting star, yeah,
And all the world will love you just as long,
As long as you are, a shooting star.
Don't you know that you are a shooting star, Don't you know, yeah,
Don't you know that you are a shooting star, now,
And all the world will love you just as long, As long you are you.
Johnny died one night, died in his bed, Bottle of whiskey,
sleeping tablets by his head. Johnny's life passed him by like a
warm summer day, If you listen to the wind you can still hear him play
Oh oh oh, Don't you know that you are a shooting star,
Don't you know, yeah, don't you know', Don't you know that
you are a shooting star,
Don't you know, yeah,
Don't you know that you are a shooting star,
Don't you, don't you,
don't you, don't you,
Don't you know, don't you
know, oh, yeah, you are,
Yeah, a shooting star, yeah, oh
oh oh oh oh......
Don't you, don't you know
that you are a shooting star,
Don't you don't you know......
ive always liked this song. it was written by Paul Rodgers. and was done, inpart,in memory of Paul Kossof who used to be with the band when it was called Free. Paul Kossof died of drug realted heart problems on a flight to New York.he was 25 at the time. he was a great guitarist but his addiction got the better of him.Rodgers wrote this as a kind of warning to kids as well. it is considered to be one of Bad Company's greatest songs.
my dad has always been a big Free/Bad Company fan,and he would play, amongst others, their albums in his car stereo when i was a kid.(still does as a matter of fact lol).i always liked it whenever it came on,i dont know why. its so sad really, with the kid becoming a great guitarist then just burning out.it also speaks of the fickleness of people. the end part of the chorus goes "And all the world will love you just as long, As long as you are, a shooting star". meaning when you fade they dont love you. it always made me feel sad when i heard it,but in a good way.
anyway... i havent updated in a couple of weeks so i think i will.lets see...whats going on with me... well firstly,i took the job at the Odeon(mainly because i wanted to avoid a painful death :P),and im actually enjoying it.ive just done my first 3 proper shifts, and i really like it there. everyone is real freindly, and im having lots of fun.more fun than i should be having i guess. i still feel kinda guilty about workin there.specailly casue its the best job ive ever had.seriously out of all the places ive worked this is the best.which just makes it worse. oh well...
its a good job i dont get bored easily, cause id probably have killed myself on the Ben & Jerrys stand by now.i tell ya that place is where time stands still lol. even so i love it! i get to sit on my arse an do practically nothin,an get paid for it! seriously, best.job.ever! :)an i get free tickets to see films as well, what more could i ask for.
god guilts a bastard :(
i start my A.C.E. course soon(less than 2 weeks) so i'll be pretty busy with that as well.still i need to do it to sharpen my brain, ready for full time college in september.
and on top of all that im tryin to write an Anime/Japanese culter version of Jeopardy! for Fuyucon. though i might have to tell joe that i cant do it,cause i dont really have the right amount of knowledge to write game show questions.you have to make them not to hard, but not to easy either. i'll probably use Wikipedia for most of the knowledge,if it comes to it,but i'll have to see.
thats about it for now, catch yez later!
