I plan on writing out a synopsis of my trip once I actually sort through everything and try to remember it in order, but for now, here is a list of things I learned and/or discovered from the trip:
* Israel is the most amazing place in the world
* when in Israel, you fall into the "life goes on" mindset when there's an attack (and there was one)
* it's not the war zone the American news media makes it out to be
* hookahs are OH so tasty
* I'm capable of more physical strain than I ever thought possible
* dry heat is bearable...humidity is not
* camels are the strangest looking animals ever
* falafels are amazing
* Israeli soldiers are hot!
* jellyfish stings are bearable unless they're in "uncomfortable" places
* the stars in the desert are the most brilliant things you've ever seen
* sunrise on Masada is even better when you've hiked 2 miles up the mountain to watch it
* Goldstar is tasty beer
* swimming in the Dead Sea is the strangest feeling ever
* Israeli soldiers in uniform are even hotter!
* the Israeli people are most remarkable
* America pales in comparison
* I will always have a home there
* all I want is to go back
I know there's more, and when I write about the actual trip itself I hope I'll remember the rest. It was truly the most amazing trip I've ever taken. I wish I could share the experience with you because pictures and stories don't do it justice. I fell in love over there...
