It’s not that Yusuf is unintelligent, he’s just not interested. He’s failed out of more schools than most people even apply to and it’s not because he didn’t deserve to be there or because he couldn’t take the pressure. He just had other things on his mind. It was so easy to learn something someone else had already done. It was as easy as following instructions, or a map. What was the point of any of it? Yusuf operates on the idea that the aim of science is to go farther, not spend forever rehashing information you could easily get off the internet. So he tends to ignore assignments and projects that don’t excite him, spend his time on experiments and theories. It’s not good for his GPA, or his love life, for that matter ( ... )
