First week of school's over and I survived! This is obviously a big deal.

I've actually adapted to high school quite well. I'm not good with change, no matter how much I like it, but I've turned around my study/homework habits easily, which is really suprising. Last year I'd sit around watching TV/on the internet doing my homework and doing like a problem every hour. I never studied. This year i get home and chill, then actually sit at the table and work on my homework. I study Latin every night. I'm suprisingly organized. I think I'm still in shock over all of it.

So Latin's been going ok, a lot of notes and things to delve into but I'm getting the hang of it. We had a (pop) quiz on Friday, and it was pretty easy. I didn't know one question, so I guessed but you could get one extra credit point at the end so I should get 100% on it. My pronounciation's off, but that's mainly thanks to years of being force fed Spanish (not that I don't like Spanish, but I had it 1rst-8th grade. And I still don't know Spanish). I pronounce double l's like y's, and roll my r's, etc. But that's ok, since Latin isn't a spoken language pronunciation supposedly isn't quite as important.

Honors English is...well, I'm still not decided on it. A lot of the people in my class are idiots. Scratch that, the loud ones and people that always talk are idiots. I like the teacher for the most part, but I'm not so into the class work. I think I've grown out of writing, which isn't good >.< . We have to do a "personal narrative" writing, and I flipped out. I thought what I had written sucked, I didn't want to read it in front of a group, i hadn't written in forever, etc. AKA, I had a little of an ego decline. Then I read the sample she gave us from some guy's writing last year, and I read some of other peoples stuff and I thought mine was the best shit ever. I'm horrible.

Economics is going to be funner then the class implies. Mr.Sharpe may be a new and eager teacher, but it seems to be working in his favor right now. We started our own "little economy" in class, and I think it's going to backfire on him but so far so good. He said he wanted to be as "realistic as possible" so he'll "accept bribes on certain things". It was funnier in context, but we can possible bribe ourselves out of tardies with "EconoBucks" (aka the monopoly money we're using). I know, I'm abusing quotation marks. stfu It sounds...promising. We have to choose a car over the weekend so then we can figure out insurance and jobs and stuff Monday. The car I chose. <3

Personal Finance is scary as hell. But it's gotten better, since all we really do is get directions then go on the computer for the whole time. I don't mind messing around on the internet for an hour. I have a ....well, kinda friend. Someone I know at least, Natasha, in that class. She's an upperclassmen, so at least I have someone to cling to in that class.

Our first assignment was to explore career stuff, so we went to this website ( ...careercruising.com ?) and took tests and whatnot and got a list of careers. We had to explore three of them or something. I look around and most people are doing things like "animator, lighting technician, secretary, food managment" etc. I'm sitting here looking up "computer engineer, aerospace engineer, physicist, gene specialist (genecist?), etc. That's what showed up on my list though for what careers would be good for me! I felt...well, unrealistic. Computer programmer isn't totally unrealistic though. As are most of those, so who knows.

Environmental science is easily the stupidest class I have. The teacher doesn't explain assignments, and so far hasn't actually taught. I'm hoping that was just a first week thing, but it seems like it isn't. It's very idiotic.
