Ah school. It's...interesting, I'll give it that. We're going to do book reports soon in Honors English (they're not due until late October tho) and someone asked her if the Harry Potter books were fine. She was like:

Mrs. Clarke: Harry Potters fine!!!! The books are so long OMG. Who read it over the summer? Come on.
4 people (FOUR people, I thought it was a little more popular then that): *raises hand*
Some blonde chick: *pokes some guy that raised his hand* JAKE *whisperwhisper* TELL ME WHO DIES!
"Jake" (different Jake then "Jake" with smelly feet): No
Blonde chick: Come on! I don't read
People who are listening in: You're in this class then why...?
Blonde chick: I bet I know who it is.
Mrs. Clarke: Not everyones read it!!! OMG SPOILERS!

I just thought that was funny.

Mr.Sharpe is a cool economics teacher so far. He's said shit in front of the class, kinda diss the Bush Administration, and sounded like my mom. But in a good way. Today he was saying something about normative statements or something and one thing led to another and he was talking about social "norms" as an example for something. "Well when I first moved here, I noticed when I met someone one of the firs things they'd ask me is what church I belong to. Let's say I told them I didn't go to church. What would happen? I'd get a funny look from them and they'd probably tell me "well you should go to church". This is because this is a religious town, and so it's the "social" norm to go to church." and that just reminded me of my mom because she always explains/rants/bitches about how when she first moved to Holland people would ask her if she was Dutch, and/or conservative, and/or Protestant. She's none of those things, and so she goes on about how she was "shunned". It's kinda funny.

So yes, school. I'm not being as anti-social and "just take notes, sit in the back and hope no one approaches you" as much as I expected to be. I know the way to all my classes, and lunch isn't horrible intimidating at first (ok, it still is). So I guess things are looking up. however I'm already sick of school and I don't usually get this way until about two months into school. Not good.

life, school
