Ok, so you gotta love this. Three weeks ago my manager - now that's a misnomer if I ever heard one - quit. She's in a union position now and is going to a non-union, exempt management position in another city. If she makes the mess there that she has made here, I don't think she'll last long.
Today, another girl quit to go to Canada Customs. She gave them like 3 days notice. This is priceless.....we are going to a huge new computer system in about 7 weeks. It will change everything about how our department runs and how we do our job and our department will be the one which is impacted the most in the whole building. And now we have no supervisor and are down 1 more staff member in our immediate department - there should be 8 and we're down to 5. What a hoot!
We've had quite a high turnover in staff during the last 18 months. I'm told that this is a function of very poor management. Do ya figure? Apparently the current management style - " ambush and assassinate"- isn't working so well. Big surprise there!!! I say good riddance to both the old manager and that evil creature who worked for her. Hopefully this is really going to shake things up and we'll get someone in who actually manages - ie communicates, listens and deals with problems. Now there's a novel concept!!
