== Copy & Pasted From My Dev-Shed Post ==
I'm a developer, that has unfortunately fallen into the trap of becoming a web application developer. I've built a web site for my employer and although it doesn't look very good, it works well... It's fast, it's reliable, it's standard compliant, it's built using ASP.NET and its creation was a challenge. Recently I was asked to apply a new design to my website, provided by a University graduate from art school, who knows nothing about the web, the DOM, CSS, or any of the challenges that come with making a dynamic database-driven website. But I gave precise instructions about what it was I wanted, and he's an intelligent guy and provided more or less what was needed. At the end of all this I had a new website... Completely reskined, some extra pages and new logic that had to be written and tested...
I made this new website in the space of 8 days... And worked for about 90 hours. And my employer is getting annoyed with how long it's taking!
A website in 8 days!
I thought I'd share this story. It's a sob story.
