Freshers Day One

Sep 25, 2007 01:35

Well... I'd have to say I'm disappointed so far with my "Freshers" experience.

Two main events were on the schedule for today. First was a tour of the campus. Second was an evening at The Old Firestation.

Tour of Campus

Yes I have to admit, I'm still in love with Bournemouth University as a place. But the tour given didn't do the establishment justice. The students who ran it totally messed it up, I just hope they weren't studying Tourism! They failed to engage with the party of people, answer questions coherently, and communicate in a clear manner. I've been on a few tours during my life-time, and I have to say this rates as the worst yet. Nice place though.

The Old Firestation - Halls Welcome Party (All first years welcome)

Before going I decided to head round to Ashley's place. Slightly uncomfortable with Shanna there as I'm still in utter disbelief with what she's done. After leaving (later than intended) I arrived at The Old Firestation at 11pm at the back of the queue. After just over an hour's waiting I finally got admitted and discovered that it was "just another club" blasting out rubbish tunes. This isn't a matter of personal taste. It's a matter of taste. How can people like simple beats put together by monkeys who have no idea about musical composition? I'm guessing it's due to the listeners being monkeys who have no idea about musical composition. If you genuinely like "club beats" and "r'n'b" then give me a reason why this music is worth listening to! Damned if I know. So I left after just under an hour.

Let's hope day two is better! So far we're at -10 on terms of "teh funs".
