wicked_visions 's brilliant anti-Twilight icons, and whoever directed Ochie to those, haha. number 14 is my favourite.
i didn't want to put Michael Jackson and Twilight in the same post, so this is a second one. MJ doesn't deserve the alternative.
The actual reason why i went on the computer is to share an unusual purchase i made yesterday. There were plans to watch Transformers, but in the end only one person could make it apart from me, and the tickets were sold out (except the first row, but who wants to sit there? even if it IS transformers. ) so we ended up watching Night at the Museum 2 instead, and it was pretty cute and funny. Able the monkey OH SORRY I MEAN CAPPUCCIN was adorable. and Jedidiah and the Roman dude are so cute and gay together. :D
so what happened before the movie started was that we were walking around plaza singapura, on the top floor, where all those movie merchandise and collectible shops are. They're really cool. There's a shop with replicas of movie swords, like broadswords from LOTR and katanas from Samurai X and Kill Bill. That was cool. There is also a row of shops with figurines and busts and other cool movie related stuff, and we went there to look. In about the third shop, we went inside and i looked around and went ASDF MUST HAVE THAT. it was an aragorn lifesize standee, on sale at s$19.90. originally i bought it for my mom because she loves aragorn, but after some thought i decided i would put it together and show it to her in the evening, because if i gave it to her for christmas and she didn't like it, that would suck. and its kinda big, and doesn't really fit into her room or its atmosphere. so thats what happened and now he is standing in my room, looking a little wistful haha. i had to move my beanbag chair out.
boy, were my parents surprised haha. my dad was trying to guess what was inside the cardboard packaging when i incidentally met him on the bus on the way home, but they weren't expecting what they got. :D i might post up a picture.
Aragorn's arrival has also prompted me to shift a few things around and tidy up a little, and it feels pretty good to have a bit of change in your living space.
plus, i mean, its been a long time since the last LOTR movie has been released, but awesomeness and epicness is forever and i am still a fan. so i am a happy girl haha. my mom says she'll go to my room just to look at the standee haha. and its a bit scary because he's right behind the door so the person gets a surprise when they walk in. and it feels like there's really a presence in the room, but thats probably because i'm not used to it yet and that it is lifesize. he's only a bit taller than me haha!
