01. tugging at the strings

"I think I have issues." They are sitting in the dressing rooms, Changmin and Yunho, waiting for the stylist to choose out another red carpet outfit so Changmin can stare at the lens of a camera like he wants to get it down right then and there. He doesn’t really like magazine photos shoots. Or any photo shoot, for that matter.
Yunho doesn’t glance at him from where the make-up artist is (once again) fixing his running concealer. Yunho sweats a lot, and it is a real inconvenience sometimes. Issues with what?”
“Her.” He nods his head towards the door, where outside, Seohyun is prepping with the camera crew. He hears her laugh and say something formally to the crew and his heart hurts. Changmin isn’t really sure why. “She just… I don’t know. Makes me feel weird.”
Yunho gives him this sly grin when the make-up artist tsks at him and he sets his lips straight again. “Do you like her?” he mumbles through the make-up application.
Changmin rolls his eyes because Yunho is kind of a hopeless romantic and also kind of an idiot and he isn’t ever sure how his hyung landed any sort of girlfriend with that type of attitude. “I don’t like her, she’s just so perfect. It bothers me. I wish she would stop.”
“She can’t stop being herself,” Yunho retorts, and Changmin kind of hates him. Maybe Yunho’s the one that likes her.
Seohyun’s hands are really soft. They are cool and feathery and her fingers fits with his kind of perfectly, and Changmin has to refrain from smiling because the photographer is already scolding at him for not looking sultry enough, whatever that hell that is supposed to look like. “And please, loosen your hands! Don’t hold them so tight!”
Yunho snickers lightly, enough so that Changmin can catch it but Seohyun is still oblivious to it all.
They go for another couple of shots before the photographer calls the stylists to set them up for the next shoot, and Seohyun drops both of their hands. The sudden cold in his hand kind of pains him.
He turns to look at Seohyun, who is standing with Yunho towards the side, his hands in his pockets and hers reaching towards his face. “Oppa, you’ve got an eyelash on your cheek,” he hears her say. Yunho is laughing and Changmin’s heart really hurts. He also hates Yunho a little more than just a while ago.
Yunho comes up next to him to watch Seohyun as she is going through her solo shoot. They’ve already completed theirs, and after she is done, all that will be left is the ending cuts. Changmin isn’t sure he wants the day to end just yet.
“She’s pretty, right?” Yunho says, and Changmin shoves him.
“Who said anything about her looks?” he shoots back.
Yunho gives him a weird look. “I… Me? What the hell.” He shakes his head and turns back to look at Seohyun, who is gazing at the camera with a dewy look in her eyes, her lips glossy and pale, and her skin porcelain white. She is the equivalent of a human China doll. Changmin has never wanted anything more in his life.
“And… Cut! Okay, next round!” The photographer goes back to his set to look at the pictures and Seohyun is thanking the crew, her hand holding the top of her dress.
Changmin walks towards her, when a make-up artist grabs him from the side in the rush. “We need to fix your eyeliner,” she says, pulling him away - through the corner of his eye, he catches Seohyun and Yunho laughing at something irrelevant. The pieces of his heart kind of shatter and he doesn’t know what to think except life sucks.
“You looked good today, oppa,” Seohyun says to him as they are wrapping up the last shoot. Yunho and him have dressed out, but Seohyun has yet to get ready to leave, and it makes him feel a little better for some reason.
Changmin blushes. “You - you did too,” he stutters back. Yunho walks up behind him, then, hitting his butt soundly. Changmin glares at him and Yunho winks towards Seohyun, who giggles.
“Hurry up, Changmin, we’ve gotta go,” he says, and then Yunho is gone, and it has become just a little awkward.
The stylist calls her name, and Seohyun glances behind her before turning to look at Changmin. “I should go change,” she says softly, smiling at him with large, innocent eyes. He could just die. “So I will see you around?”
“Y - yeah. Definitely. Good work today.” Seohyun bows her head and turns away, her glossy brown hair flowing behind her. It is like a movie scene, the princess walking away from what he wished were her prince charming. Yunho calls his name again and Changmin sighs.
He still thinks he is has issues, but Yunho could also be right too.
02. flutter

Min is some sort of irresistible. Hongki doesn’t know what exactly it is, because she isn’t the prettiest one in her group, or the cutest, or the sexiest, or any of those things. She doesn’t have charm, like Fei, or innocence, like Suzy, or sexiness, like Jia, but she is still Hongki’s favorite. Min is kind of a dork, though, and Hongki is kind of a dork too, and maybe that’s all it is.
They catch each other backstage of one of those music shows that he’s lost the name of. Her foundation is somewhat runny, and her eyeliner is smudged at the corner of her left eye. “You look horrible,” he says, and she grins, flashing a peace sign as if it will make it all better.
“You can count on it!” she shouts, like it is a logo of sorts. He snorts and Min bursts out laughing.
“You’re so dumb,” and she just replies with the same thing.
“But it’s alright, because I don’t need a man,” she adds, before breaking out into the chorus that he’s got the routine down to. They start dancing though Hongki is sure he looks like an idiot, and then Minhwan is pulling him away, telling him to stop embarrassing the group.
But just before he leaves, Hongki falls in love with her sweaty face and her short figure, and that’s all it is.
03. nightmares and crushes

can i get shot for shipping this they just
ugh There is something about Krystal that really turns him off. She is loud and obnoxious and has no perspective of any sort of authority, and if he were to really admit it, she kind of scares him. He wonders how her and Jessica are so different, but he can never dwell on it for too long before his nightmares flood back and Eunhyuk really does not like Krystal.
To his dismay, the photographers pair them up for the SPAO clothing line.
Now that SNSD is gone, and there is no more Siwon and Yoona, no more Leeteuk and Jessica or Kyuhyun and Seohyun, f(x) is the new brand name.
It kind of sucks, because Kyuhyun and Victoria are already best friends, and Amber and Sungmin are two peas in a pod, but Eunhyuk is just all sorts of awkward with Krystal.
The photographer calls them out after the group photos, and he walks to the middle of the set, standing there uncomfortably as he waits for her. She is giggling about something most likely insignificant to the rest of the world with Amber, and Eunhyuk looks over at them tiredly, when Krystal looks up and their eyes meet. Her pupils are big and bright and a chocolate brown and kind of easy to melt into it before he shakes it off.
The shoot is just as graceless as he had imagined, but at least it isn’t worse. If it could get any worse, that is.
But it does, and they bump into each other in the studio again after shooting is done and the camera crew is wrapping up, and they have nowhere to be but right there. “This is fun, don’t you think?” she giggles.
Eunhyuk grunts in an attempt at a response.
She is oblivious, though, bouncing on her toes as if this is the first gig she has ever taken on, and if he were to really admit it, she looks kind of cute. “I think this is a lot of fun,” she says again.
He stares at her for a second before mumbling yeah.
“I love working with everyone,” she murmurs, her eyes glowing and her feet still bouncing. Her beanie is lopsided and if she were to keep moving, it would fall off, so he reaches over a little with his arms and fixes it for her. Krystal glances at him and he shrugs awkwardly. She giggles and bumps him at the hip, squealing a thanks before Luna calls her and she is off again.
She isn’t all that bad, if he thinks about, and if he were to really admit it, Eunhyuk could say he kind of liked her too. Just kind of, though, cause Krystal is still Krystal and she is still kind of a nightmare too.
04. guitar lessons
trax/snsd - jungmo/seohyun - g

dedicated to
yeomin happy birthday bb ♥ plus,
look how cute they are Jungmo is taking his last rounds at the entertainment company before his enlistment, nostalgia flooding in as he walks past recording studios and instrument rooms and worn dance stations, the latter something he didn’t actually have to suffer through but brings out memories anyways (the good ones with snsd or tvxq, attempting to reenact dance scenes, and the bad ones always with super junior, of heechul trying to make a move that is desperately unwanted).
It is a nice surprise when he meets her in the process, her tired posture overshadowed by her glowing expression.
Seohyun offers to walk with him and they go through halls and halls of childhood. Jungmo still can’t really believe it is happening - it hurts, a little bit, but he’s kind of glad to be taking a break, and he wonders how Jay is doing.
They pass by Trax’s dressing room and Seohyun asks if he has his guitar in there. “I think so, why?” She shrugs but he pulls her inside anyways, picking up an older wooden guitar and handing it to her. “You still remember how to play?”
She smiles with her eyes, and he thinks she looks nothing short of beautiful. “Maybe, but I don’t think I’ll be any good.”
“Try it!” he urges, and she sighs with little breaths. Her hand hovers over the strings before she plucks one, a quiet sound emitting, and he watches as she runs her fingers over them again and again before trying to play it. The chords are off some and it isn’t the best thing he has ever heard, but it is what he taught her and so Jungmo likes it anyways.
“How was it?” Seohyun asks after she is finished. Jungmo gives her a shy grin in response and she whines, holding the guitar out to him in her thin arms. “I told you I couldn’t play it well!” she cries, and he laughs, shaking his head.
“It wasn’t bad!” he retorts, pushing it back towards her. Seohyun’s arm goes around the instrument naturally and he leans forward towards her. “You just have to tighten your fingers on the strings,” he says, folding her wrist under the extension and pushing her fingers against the chords. “Then just strum,” and he guides her other hand down the strings, “and that’s all there is to it.”
Jungmo glances up from his position to look at her downturned face, her hair framing the sides of her face like a waterfall. He smiles, and her eyelids lift up a bit to look at him. She smiles back softly. “I guess I’ll have to practice by myself when you’re gone,” she says, and his lips turn up so much that it hurts.
“You’ll be fine,” he tells her. “Just play me something when I get back. Something pretty.”
Seohyun giggles, let’s see how that goes, I can’t practice well with a guitar player let alone by myself, but all Jungmo can really think of is how pretty she is, and sometimes you learn to appreciate things once they are gone.
He thinks, then, it must be alright.
- will someone please write me some kai/seohyun or kikwang/min.
