Today I thought a bit about the notion of being thankful and all of the little things people think about when turkey day comes around. Well when we think of these things, whether they are material or post-material, they are things we see ourselves as having presently which are given to us by whom or whatever. Alright so good, we have these things, they're there, and were thankful for having received them. However, now that we've said were thankful and our need has been satisfied, we put these things on the back burner because they are ours. We no longer need to work for them, now we can fulfill other needs. But yet we can lose these things, or at least lose sight of them, all so quickly and in some cases we can't even realize it. So how thankful are we if these things can so easily slip away? Thankful enough to continue to work, to always work?
I am thankful for three things... Family, Friends, and God, all of which require a little work and faith.
