LJ posts on *gasp* LJ, part 4: Final thoughts

Oct 15, 2006 22:45

This 4-part posting was kinda like a midterm self-report card on me and LJ. My conclusions?
  1. Shorter LJ posts are definitely the way to go. I'm more apt to post them in a timely manner, and y'all seem more apt to read them and respond to them. (I know, I know. I hear the "duh!" out there.)
  2. If I think I've got 2-3 short things to post I should still post them separately. See #1.
  3. The post-and-response aspect of LJ is very addictive for me. I need to stay aware of that.
  4. Lately, when faced with time constraints I've been LJing first, then e-mailing. Many of my close friends are not on LJ, and never will be. Thus I must choose e-mailing first in most cases.

So the final strategy is to e-mail longer things to good friends first, to keep them in the loop. I'll simultaneously post more fun (and shorter) things in LJ. And of course, things which are really good/important from my e-mails will end up in edited form on LJ.
Report card done.
