First thing he should do was to inform Niou that he was dating Tachibana, he figured. Or maybe not immediately, that would seem rather rude, wouldn't it? Fuji hummed to himself as he walked away from the dorms, towards the entrance of the camp. He figured Niou would already be there, as he had taken a bit of time getting ready. It was rather late, and maybe they shouldn't be out and about during this hour, but no matter. Drinks weren't something that came easily during the day hours after all.

Niou was already standing outside, waiting for his "date" to arrive. Of course it wasn't a real date. He wasn't really interested in dating. At least not Fuji. The guy was nice and hot and all... but it just felt like something he didn't want to do. So just casual meeting with drinking involved... yeah, that was about it.

Fuji hurried up to Niou as he spotted him and smiled. "Hi there~ Did I keep you waiting?"

"Nope", Niou replied and stretched. "I'd be outta here if you had." Fuji looked the same. At least he was easy to recognize as the same one he was ages ago. Well, Niou hadn't changed much either. Just gotten taller and his ponytail had gained some length as well.

Fuji's hair was longer, and he was skinnier - if that was even possible - but he wasn't taller. Well, he now had to look up even further to look Niou in the eyes. Somewhat annoying. He smiled though, and started towards the exit. "So, do you have any idea where we could go?"

Niou chuckled. "Like I know. I just arrived here. But if you know a place, I can easily look like I'm old enough to buy and we can drink outside."

"That works for me." Fuji smiled. Oh yes, he knew a few places; he had been here for two years now after all. "I'll show you the way." He glanced up at Niou. "You look older."

"Alright", Niou said and walked along with Fuji. "It's been years, so naturally? ... though you still look the same to me."

Fuji made a small face and then chuckled. "I do, do I?"

"Uh huh. Though you look like you've lost some weight on you." If Niou had been all that worried, he would have told him to eat more and all that crap. He wasn't. "And your hair is different. But that doesn't make you look older."

"Does it make me look prettier?" Smile~

A grin formed on Niou's lips. "Yeah. Too bad pretty isn't my type."

"Then we're both happy." He glanced up at him. "So, what is your type?"

"Oi, I'm not planning on telling", Niou smirked. "You'll just have to wait and see when I get someone into my net."

"Oh? But what if someone gets you into their net? Would you show it to the world, Petenshi-san?"

The smirk widened a bit. "What do you think?"

Fuji merely chuckled and locked his hands behind his back, glancing up at Niou with a pleased smile on his face.

"Heh." Well, wasn't this an interesting welcome. Niou would have though most people didn't want to get close to him, but it seems years changed things.

"You have quite the odd look on your face," Fuji said cheerfully. "I didn't embarrass you, now did I?"

A blink. "I'm not the type that gets easily embarrassed, you know. I'm merely just confused."

"What's confusing you, then?" Fuji peered curiously at him.

"You."

Fuji laughed. "Well, I hear that a lot. What would you find so confusing about me, mm?"

"The fact that you want to hang out with me, maybe?" Niou admitted and messed his own hair a bit. "You've always been a mystery."

Fuji studied him for a moment and then nodded slowly. "Well, that's interesting. You don't think you'd made the impression that I would want that? Is it lack of confidence, Niou, or is it simply a sense of self awareness?"

Niou shrugged. "I guess I'm still kind of caught in the past. I didn't have a lot of friends outside Rikkai." And he still didn't have much. Actually, his closest contact was Sanada... which was rather odd, since he wasn't that close to him in Rikkai.

"Personally, I'm too much not caught up in the past. I hardly hang out with anyone from Seigaku anymore." Or anyone for that matter. It was almost depressing when you thought about it. He spent time with Kippei, of course, An, and occasionally Atobe. But other than that... You're one lonely, pathetic human being, Fuji Syuusuke.

"I see. Well, I haven't seen much anyone after Junior High ended. Got caught up with business so I didn't have time. So be honored. Your one of the first in ages."

He made a quick bow, smile still in place. "I am honored~" Straightening himself up, Fuji sucked thoughtfully on the insides of his cheeks. "You're a fascinating guy, Niou."

"Heh. Thanks. So, is there still a long walk to the place we're going?"

"Getting bored with my company already, are you?"

"No, but I'm getting thirsty."

Fuji nodded. "Me too, actually. If you want, we could stop for a drink... somewhere. You know. A normal, non alcoholic drink."

"Like where?" Alcohol never took away thirst anyway, so it was a rather good idea.

The smaller boy pointed with his thumb towards a 7Eleven further down the street. "There, perhaps?"

"If the place is decent, then sure."

Fuji gave him a dead pan look. "It's 7Eleven."

"Uh, yeah? Should I know the place?"

Fuji stared for a moment, then laughed. "... If you don't, then it's fine." He waved his hand dismissively, then stopped, pulling the sleeve of his jacket down as it had ridden down, exposing his wrist. Not exactly what he wanted.

Okay, a bit more confused now. There were some mysteries to be solved it seemed. "Well, I could just go to the nearest store to buy some beer, too."

"Well, that sounds boring, doesn't it?"

"Meh. Depends on how you get the drinks."

"Well, I know this guy in this pub..." Small smile this time. They reached the 7Eleven store and Fuji stepped inside, heading for the refreshment shelf.

"That's boring. Why use contacts when you have someone like me with you?"

He was stocking up on sparkling water. "Oh? And what could you do?"

Niou chuckled. "Don't you remember? Trickster of the courts", he said and winked. "My illusions aren't only for the courts."

"Well, then I guess you'll have to show me some of your magic." Walking up to the counter with the bottles of water.

"Maybe. Unless you want to take the boring route out." He hadn't forgotten his illusions. Sometimes they came in handy... and he had gotten many new ones to use.

Fuji handed him a bottle. "Do I look like the type who enjoy boring?" He was taking care to keep his sleeve in place, locking it down with his ring finger and pinky as he handed Niou the drink.

Niou looked slightly at the sleeve before he accepted the drink. "You never know. So... what's wrong with your wrist?"

"..." Fuji opened his bottle of water and took a swig at it. "That obvious, am I?" He held out his arm. "Well, why don't you check for yourself?"

Niou shrugged. "Sure, why not. You've got me curious." He took Fuji's hand and removed the sleeve quite carefully, to see what's going on.

Scars was going on. A few that apparently were from shallow wounds, a long one that started at the base of his thumb and went almost all the way up to the crook of his arm, and then a few vertical ones over his wrist, deeper than the rest. None of which had been there three years ago, obviously. "Pretty ugly, aren't they?"

The scar looked quite painful, but Niou was quite sure they didn't hurt right now. Fuji sure had changed... the one he knew never would have done such thing. At least Niou had always seen Fuji as a survivor who never backed down. He wondered what had happened... but wouldn't ask. Niou let go of the hand he was holding. "Does that help anything?"

"No. Which is why I've stopped." He shrugged and smiled, dryly. "I guess I wised up."

"That's good, at least", Niou said, drinking the water he had gotten. "Wanna see a scar of mine, since you showed yours? It's pretty awesome."

"Sure, why not?" He had seen Mizuki's after all. Why not Niou's as well? "It's... not in a weird place though, is it? Since we're still in the store and all..."

"No worries." Niou gave his bottle back to Fuji for a while and took his jacket off. Under it, he only had a sleeveless shirt and the scar was easy to spot with that on. It was a rather long one on his shoulder which he had gotten during his training. He wasn't really sure if it would heal or not... at least it looked neat.

Fuji looked closely at it. "Does it hurt? What happened?"

"It's an old wound, so no", Niou explained and the put his jacket back on. "I was sparring with someone. He got to me, but you should see him." Lies, that. He was the one who got kicked down, after all. Had another proof on his back that was still a nuisance.

"Looks like it hurt when you got it though." Fuji offered a small, sympathetic smile and headed for the exit. "You know, I only showed you mine because it's quite the bother to try and keep it hidden."

It hurt more to lose Niou thought and listened to Fuji. He chuckled a bit. "Yeah, I know. And I only showed mine cause I felt like it." He didn't care if people knew he had scars. As long as they didn't know how he really got them. He didn't really lie about the reason now, no. But it wasn't the complete truth, after all.

"Let's go drown our sorrows, shall we?" Fuji headed down the street, hands in his pockets. "Oh... Did you know I'm dating Tachibana Kippei? That's... Weird."

"Oh? Interesting." Not a pair he would have seen coming. But he wasn't someone to judge. "Congrats, I guess?"

"Thank you." Fuji smiled bleakly. "He's part of the reason why I stopped cutting, you know." Or stopped trying to off myself completely.

"Well, love does that, doesn't it?" Niou grinned. He wouldn't know. Never tried. He was only driven by excitement, after all. That's what had brought him there like he now was.

"Love saves lives... Unless it destroys them." Simple truth. He led Niou down one of the main roads of the town before taking a turn to the left, heading into a smaller one. Another turn, this time to the right, and they were in an alley way. "We're almost there."

That's what made love interesting. It was a double edged sword. It could heal you and make you more vulnerable for destruction. At least that was how Niou saw it. And it made him want to try it one day. Just to see how he would survive. "Alright."

"Want to put your sexy on? Or whatever it is..."

"I don't know if it's sexy or not... I need age don't I?" Niou laughed and then concentrated a bit to create his illusion of another man. His every little movements were changed into the man's movements. It was his trainer, the one who he had seen most during the years away. It was easy to pretend to be him. "What should the young man want?"

Wow. Fuji stared, feeling again how his mind was overwhelmed by the sheer brilliance of of Niou's... Acting? Or whatever it was. It was flawless, whatever it was. He suddenly felt young, and as such, vulnerable. "I... Uh..." Why did he become a stuttering mess when he knew it was Niou underneath it all?

"Close your eyes if you're feeling uneasy. That got you through our match, didn't it?"

"A--Ah." He did. Used his other sense. Niou's smell. Yes. The sound of his steps hitting the pavement. Not the steps of that man he had seen... Or thought he had seen. Focus. It worked. "Okay, I'm good. Tequila, please."

"Alright. I'll be back in a few." He walked into the bar and easily made order for the drink. Tequila and the special of the day. After paying he thanked and made his way back to the door. After getting out, he stopped his illusion and walked to Fuji. "Here you go."

Mutely, Fuji accepted the drink and downed it quickly, managing from making a face at the taste. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Niou's drink wasn't all too amazing. Just a normal mix of few regular drinks... nothing new. "You looked really surprised there? Forgot my abilities?"

"Forgot how flawless they were."

Niou smirked. "Heh. I've even improved from then. Amazing, isn't it?" He finished his drink. "Now, what shall we do next. Want to be my tour guide?"

"I wouldn't mind," Fuji smiled. "The town's pretty nice."
