His heartbeat soars as he stares, dumbfounded, at the contents of the package he has received in the mail.  A simple Pokeball.  Red and white with no particular distinction, nothing to note its contents.  But he knows what has been returned to him, of course, in the same way that a father could tell his identical twins

[The sudden crashing and booming scares the absolute pants off of Dexter. He looks frantically around for the source of the noise... only to see... one really awesome looking thing. He kinda cowers behind a tree, peeking out slightly to watch it do more stuff.]

[And Dexter's wish is satisfied. Thrusting a hand out, Grimsley gives one final command.]

Night Slash!

[The steel warrior leaps into the air, performing an entirely unnecessary front flip as its blades extend out before it. It lands on the ground heavily, beyond the fallen tree... There is a brief moment of silence.

Then the tree explodes into six different pieces.]

[Now, time to figure out what this strange creature is, he slowly approaches the two, apprehensive as ever of that magnificent creature. Was it man? Was it machine? Was it something else entirely? Soon, Dexter hopes to find out]

W-Wow! That was... impressive!

[Grimsley will notice his audience then and smile indulgently.]

Indeed it was.

[How modest. He bows.]

But until you've seen a true Pokemon battle... you're only watching the previews.

[He eyes the creature curiously]

So...is that thing a... Pokemon... or is that the name of the type of combat it engages in?

[The creature lumbers over towards Dexter and stares down suspiciously at the small child while Grimsley chuckles.]

This is Bisharp, one of many species of Pokemon in my world. Each is equipped with unique and powerful abilities for battle.

[He cowers a little... but still ventures forth in the name of SCIENCE!]

H-hello there...nice to meet you... B-Bisharp....you're... pretty cool looking....

So, this creature is trained for gladiatorial sports...Interesting...I too have dabbled in this sort of thing! I have an arena set up at home where robots I've built duke it out to be top dog!

[Bisharp doesn't seem to think it's nice to meet Dexter. It does, however, dip its head briefly before its eyes blink out into the helmet portion of its body. Grimsley smirks.]

Is that so? I can assure you that it's different working with live battlers. Pokemon are as intelligent as human beings, after all - perhaps more-so, in many occasions.
