MUSIC EATEEEEER~ (December music)

Good evening, yall, and Happy New Year! We're already a half a month into it, in fact. Freakin' time, I swear.

Brief update: I am still in IN, doing an extended stay with family because chances are I won't be doing this very much in the future. It's not been the easiest vacation emotionally for a number of personal reasons, but there's also been addicting my Mom to Fringe, walks with my stepdad, random stupidity with my sister, shenanigans with my brother, puppies who like to be cuddled and the kitties that hate them. It all balances out. Also, I've been playing a lot of both Halo 4 and Minecraft, two of the most cathartically frustrating games I've ever played, so that helps.

And along with the rush of last month came some music. As it usually does. :)

5. Florence and the Machine - Seven Devils - See I was dead when I woke up this morning, and I'll be dead before the day is done
It's kind of a tie between this song and "No Light, No Light," but whereas I like singing "No Light" more, this is the song that I end up muttering to myself a lot more. Both are good for stress. ^^;;;

4. Jeff Williams - Falling Towards the Sky - Waiting for my...ride
From Red vs. Blue Season 9. RvB didn't have a real soundtrack up until about Season 8 (officially, at least), and then in 9 and 10 they went for this interesting mix of orchestral tracks and hip-hop. And by "interesting" I mean "kinda cheesy," though they do grow on you. I like the mixed style of this song a lot, though, and it goes with a pretty badass scene, too.

3. Cynthia Harrell (MGS 3) - Snake Eater -I'd give my life not for honor but for you (snake eater)
The best Bond theme that wasn't. Immensely fun to sing in bank drive-thrus. My sister has two songs on my MP3 player she likes, which are this and Ludo's "Lake Pontchartrain." So while we were driving up (and indeed, when we go driving now), she'll look at me and go, "Snake Eater, please." And then we BELT. Because that's what this song is for!

2. Ludo - Love Me Dead - You're awful, I love you
Choosing one line from this song is, uh, kind of hard to do; I've been walking around the house for a month going, "You're hideous, and sexy!" among other things. I got this song from my sister's MP3 player, so we've now traded Ludo songs from the same album. Go figure. (My stepdad, upon hearing it, announced that he and my Mom were forming a band to sing their own "disgusting songs." There's a thing I'd love to see.)

1. Mumford and Sons - I Will Wait - So I'll be bold, as well as strong, and use my head alongside my heart
So when I was all, "Doot doot doo, I like this song by Mumford and Sons and they have another one on the radio right now, ain't that spiffy?", I didn't expect that to be some sort of hint to the song in question to burrow its way into my brain and demand endless plays. I really didn't! But it did and, well, I honestly love it, so it all worked out in the end. Funny thing, though; I've mentioned that I don't understand half the lyrics in Green Day songs before, and--same with this song. Harmonies, I guess.

Dishonorable Mention - Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child
There's a group of guys on XBL that I both game and bullshit with quite a bit. One of them, Chaos, was talking about how he'd managed to earworm his brother by singing bits of the chorus song to him. He was quite pleased about it, too. And what do you know, within a few days, my sister sat in the living room and just sang bits of the chorus to me, thus getting it stuck in my head without ever having heard the damn song. Which then would pop up on the radio every time I went out for a little errand. I know people are kind of sad that Swedish House Mafia are breaking up after this, but you know, I think it's best they go before they continue to perfect musical catchiness into some sort of Fringe-esque brain melting weapon.

family, music, multiplayer and me, my head is a strange place to be
