Monday: KICKS TO THE FACE!

Jan 28, 2008 21:38

This has been a day marked by tiny mishaps and little annoyances.

I didn't sleep until later than I wanted to last night, so I pulled myself out of bed a bit later than I wanted to. Then I couldn't find the pants I wanted to wear. Fine! There was a nice spare pair of black. I even managed to pack another bag of clothes without too much of a problem, but when I got out to the car, I had no wallet. It took two trips between house and car before I figured out where the damn thing was.

I didn't have enough money for my spot, so I took a chance on a ticket.

The bookstore wasn't open when I got there.

It took me extra time to go through my class papers, which meant I didn't have the best prepped lecture. Part of this was because I listened to Stories from the Chair, which was rather cool and exciting.

Class went all right, though. And things were pretty good from then on, even with the Now I've Changed Clothes Again! trick I kept pulling. tukenane and I went and worked out, for one. Even though I accidentally ended my cycling a bit early and so had to guess at times after that.

Then I got back to the Lab, changed again, and went to grab food--which meant walking through signers. And of course, when I got back, I couldn't figure out my keys for the life of me.

And later--after eating and trying not to fall asleep on my keyboard and doing some class reading--I locked myself out of the Lab. And I was pretty damn sure Dee had left.

Cue swearing! Cue scramble! Cue illegal propping of door! Cue contacting B so I could go get her keys, without coat and everything! Cue...coming back to find a note from Dee.

Yay! But also, well, ugh.

Now I'm home and trying a new method of pre-treating the clothes the cat has "gotten" to. Let's hope this doesn't accidentally bleach out every damn thing I own.

grad school, teaching 101, i bring this on myself
