I am really questioning the motives of some churches and their advertisements. Is it an attempt to only fill chairs or pews? Are we even supposed to mass advertise? Can we be so off if our hearts are truly in the right place? Will they not know us by our works? Why do we have to make little plastic signs or billboards about services and what not? In creatively advertising are we adding to God's word? Are we saying it is not enticing enough? Isn't the problem with us, not God's word? I don't know. I feel like we don't need to mass advertise, at least not in such an impersonal way.
