a bit of a smile

So I performed my drammatic monologue in TAI today.

It's a monologue about a women who got in a car accident and it killed her daughter. At the beginning I had to cry. I was up there with a tissue box and all and at first I was nervous, but it went away. It made me happy to hear people tell me that they thought I was really crying. I never got to play serious roles whenever I did theatre in high school, so I went for it and I guess I did alright because I got a 34/35! He wrote "You did a good job communicating your narrator's attitudes" and "Nice job finding new ideas," and "Nice emotional connection to the text." I remember finishing and seeing a surprised look on his face and I couldn't tell if he was shocked that I guess I can kinda act or if he was just surprised I was done with my piece. Either way, the grade and his comments and the rest of my audience's comments made me really happy. And I really needed something to do that for me.

Off I am to take a much needed nap.
