6/18/2008 Saw Iron Maiden at Merriweather Post's Pavillion. a GREAT show. Rime was the highlight of the show, def!
Weirdest/Best shirts seen
- Wrathchild America (!!! musta been from ages ago)
- White t shirt with "Saxon Wheels of Steel" / "Saxon 747" on it in sharpie (most ghetto)
- a tie-dyed SEAL shirt. yes the animals. it was kind of flaming
- Celtic Frost H.R. Geiger shirt
Mullets seen: 4
my bro yelled out "MULLET" as we spotted a guy whilst we were leaving
Hot Chicks
- Hot brunette chick with a snakeskin top
- a couple brunette jailbait chicks in maiden shirts
- blond in orange short shorts
- dyed redhead/brunette with a micro mini leatherish skirt and ripped up red fishnets. Very long legs
- undecided: the goth/punk/raver chick with the fake pigtails/braids/ropes in her hair and shaggy wookiee boots. Kind of more "o wow, no thanks"
Lauren Harris- daughter of the Bassist Steve Harris- opened. Nothing special. Nothing memorable except her cleavage. Her guitarist channeled Zakk Wylde and bassist looked like a chubby Nikki Sixx. And the drummer looked 60. Best song they did was a UFO cover ("Natural Thing"). She also kept on doing the same stage move- kind of leaning over and moving from L to R then straighening up.
1.Aces High
2.2 Minutes to Midnight
3.Revelations
4.The Trooper (Bruce in Red coat waving around Union Jacks)
5.Wasted Years
6.The Number of the Beast (with Huge Devil with moving head and flames)
7.Can I Play With Madness
8.Rime of the Ancient Mariner (with flames, fireworks, and fog- epic track of the night)
9.Powerslave (with flames and powerslave-era mask)
10.Heaven Can Wait (with fan club members to do the ooOOOo's)
11.Run to the Hills
12.Fear of the Dark
13.Iron Maiden (with Huge mummy Eddie breaking out of the Eddie in pharaoh mask)
Encore:
14.Moonchild
15.The Clairvoyant (with robotic somewhere in time Eddie (with gun) walking about on stage!)
16.Hallowed Be Thy Name
And of course, no concert would be complete without the usual miscreants, drunks, and the general 'unwashed' (Seriously, some of these people- if they could smell themselves). And some bros "Flying high" right in front of me and a bit out of it. sheesh.
All the pavillion was sold out, last I heard and it certainly looked it. Lawn was pretty packed as well.
Added note: Steve Harris's Bass was turned up WAY too loud. Just like on every Maiden album
