Late, as usual!

As usual, I'm late with my review!

A lot has been said about The Time of the Doctor, with varying views of it's success.  I'm not too hard to please.  Without getting into deep analysis (I'm never any good at that, anyway), I have to say that I generally enjoyed it.  It was a bit busy, trying to tie up all of those loose ends, but it worked.

It was an unexpected twist that it was Gallifrey and the Time Lords on the other side of the crack.  It worked well that this was how the Doctor received his new "set" of regenerations.  So, they give him the means to (hopefully) find and rescue them.  When and if the time comes, they'd better be suitably grateful (both parties)!

The regeneration/destruction of the Daleks looked spectacular.  However the weird regeneration sequence on the TARDIS was a bit disappointing.  Eleven's final speech was wonderful and very sad, but the sudden "popping up" of Twelve didn't really do it for me.  Anyway, I'm looking forward to the Eighth season - and Peter Capaldi. :)
