Boredom...
And there are many ways to alleviate it. I just have to find those ways.
And find a quieter keyboard. I've been trying to shift more of my primary computer usage to my desktop, which is shiny, sparkly, and in much better shape than my laptop. LJ posting is, hopefully, something I'll do more often now that I'm working to change things.
Part of the problem with my laptop is it wants to overheat and shut down, usually the moment I try to do anything more than IM, email, and limited web surfing. Viewing media? Forget it. Posting here? Nowai.
Using any sort of editing or office software? Naaah.
It's five years old, and we suspect either one of the ram chips has gone bad or a fan has. But neither Ainyan nor I have the requisite knowledge of laptops to really look at it.
I just wish we could afford a new one. There's a cute $250 Acer at Wal-Mart. I know what some of you are thinking, but keep in mind I want a laptop that: Surfs the web, plays SimpleMu, lets me edit LJ, and do email and IM. It has to be multimedia capable, to let me do YouTube or CNN.com videos....it doesn't need to play games or anything like that. So a tiny piece of equiment would suit me fine.
And now I'm rambling, for no reason. Except that I'm up past my bedtime. XD A two-hour nap does that to me.
