Description: Named for Astrid Peth, a brief companion of the Doctor. Astrid the Elgyem isn't nearly as brave and outspoken as her namesake, and is actually rather shy and dislikes being the center of attention. She tends to hide from prying eyes and usually restricts her communication to the flashing lights on her hands in place of vocalization. However, she is gradually opening up more, thanks to the Doctor's patience with her, as well as his cheery disposition. While she doesn't seem very bold, when in dire situations Astrid will put herself on the line for the sake of her teammates and trainer. The irony in that is not lost on the Doctor.

Description: Named after a certain famous wizard's pet owl. Hedwig was encountered during the Doctor's nightly trek through Route 1, and captured after she attempted to build a nest in some of his belongings. While her nocturnal nature and habit of keeping track of every passing second with according hoots (especially when he's trying to sleep) can be a bit bothersome, Hedwig is very loyal and helpful to the Doctor, perfectly content to perch on his shoulder during the day and act as a sort of lookout at night.

Description: Named after the Doctor's past companion Peri Brown. This Peri is an irritable, mischievous cat with a tendency to steal from and trick others, either for her own gain or as sport. In fact, she was discovered after she happened to find her way into the Doctor's pack and tried to make off with his sonic screwdriver. While it would seem Peri wouldn't help the Doctor's mild aversion to cats, Peri is also exceedingly clever and strong-willed, qualities the Doctor is very fond of. Since capture, Peri has given up on trying to steal from the Doctor, apparently having gained a respect for him. Due to her cleverness, she can be surprisingly skilled in battle, and has become a faithful ally to the Doctor's team. Still, she's likely to play tricks on anyone else, a friend of her trainer's or not.
